The two week US-RP “Balikatan” military exercises formally opened yesterday amid a backdrop of an outraged Japanese nation over the recent rape of a 14 year old girl by a US Marine in Okinawa. At the same time, the “exercises” again happens even as justice has yet to be served to “Nicole”, our kababayan who were gang-raped by US soldiers in Subic, Olongapo more than two years ago.
With more than 6,000 US soldiers currently inside the country for the so called “exercises”, one can only pray that these GI-Joes keep their pants zipped and that they treat our women with respect especially in their scheduled RNRs.
